Martina Navratilova has a reason to celebrate this weekend!

The tennis legend proposed to her partner of six years, Julia Lemigova, at the U.S. Open Saturday afternoon and of course she said yes!

"I was very nervous. It came off, and she said yes," Navratilova told reporters after the special moment. "It was kind of an out-of-body experience. You've seen people propose at sporting events before, in movies, in real life and here it was happening to me."

She added, "So I was like watching myself do that. It was cool."

The proposal happened just before Navratilova and her doubles partner Jana Novotna took to the court. They would later win the match by defeating Tracy Austin and Gigi Fernandez

Despite the loss, Austin couldn't help but send her best wishes to the couple. "CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement to Julia!! @Martina," she Tweeted

Navratilova and her partner have expressed interest in getting married in Florida, where they reside. The couple hopes that the state will allow same-sex marriages to happen in the next year.

The tennis legend won 18 Grand Slam singles titles during her successful career. On Saturday, however, all eyes were on an engagement ring instead of a tennis ball.

Congrats to the happy couple!
