Even when Chris Pratt fails, he wins!

The Guardians of the Galaxy star, 35, took the mound at Wrigley Field Wednesday to throw the first pitch on behalf of the Chicago Cubs. While it wasn't a total disaster, it wasn't Pratt's best effort, either. The ball bounced outside of the batter's box, prompting the actor to throw his hands in the air in defeat.

In spite of his poor performance, the crowd ate it up.

"Of the four sports I played, as maybe you could have picked up by my first pitch today, baseball was my fourth best sport," Pratt admitted to sports announcers Jim Deshaies and Len Kasper. Deshaies later noted that Pratt was cast as a baseball player in 2011's Moneyball. "Luckily, he was a guy who had an arm injury and didn't have to throw the ball that often," Pratt said of the movie, co-starring Brad Pitt.

Pratt wore the home team's jersey, as is custom during the first pitch. Rather than wear a matching hat, though, he opted for a cap with the word "Groot" on it. "Groot is a character in Guardians of the Galaxy, but also a local waste management company," the Parks and Recreation star said. "So I'm representing both Chicago and the movie the Guardians of the Galaxy at the same time with the same hat."

Following the interview, Pratt sang "Take Me Out the Ball Game."

The next night, Pratt and his wife Anna Faris saw Garth Brooks in concert. "I'm at Garth Brooks right now. One of the greatest moments in my life. #GodBlessGarthBrooks," the Everwood actor tweeted. "New last verse to Thunder Rolls and this place is about to EXPLOOODE! Get ready. #GoSeeGarth!!!"

That same night, Faris tweeted a funny picture of her husband wearing tiny sunglasses. "Ugh. So bummed my husband got such a huge head from being starlord," the Mom star, 37, joked in the caption.
