Stand Up to Cancer might be the most star-studded event of the year!
Two weeks after it was revealed that stars including Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow and Reese Witherspoon will join forces for Friday's fourth biennial fundraising telecast, the charitable organization announced an additional 20 participants Wednesday. The impressive list includes Kevin Bacon, Jordana Brewster, Diem Brown, Steve Carell, Amanda de Cadenet, Giada de Laurentiis, Robert Downey Jr., Ben Falcone, Josh Gad, Tony Goldwyn, Dave Grohl, Anna Kendrick, Jaime King, Joe Manganiello, Melissa McCarthy, Mira Sorvino, Hailee Steinfeld, Alison Sweeney, Sofía Vergara and Charlie Wilson.
SU2C will air on 32 broadcast and cable networks and stream live on Hulu and Yahoo.
ABS, CBS, Fox and NBC are donating one hour of simultaneous, commercial-free viewing for the nationally televised special. The event will also be broadcast on ABC Family, American Forces Network, Bravo, Cooking Channel, Discovery Fit & Health, E!, Encore, Encore Espanol, EPIX, ESPNEWS, Fox Sports 2, FXM, HBO, HBO Latino, Hulu, ION Television, LMN, Logo TV, MLB Network, National Geographic Channel, Oxygen, Palladia, Pivot, Showtime, Smithsonian Channel, Starz, TNT, Vh1 and Yahoo.
Instead of having a traditional phone bank, Yahoo Global News anchor Katie Couric will host a "digital lounge" on set at L.A. Nokia Live. Stars including Dane Cooke and Rob Lowe will reach out to viewers by phone, Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms via a campaign called "We're Calling You."
SU2C's first three telecasts took place in 2008, 2010 and 2012 and aired in more than 190 countries. To date, more than $261 million has been pledged to support various innovative cancer research programs.
(E!, Bravo, NBC and Oxygen are all part of the NBCUniversal family.)
