YouTubeYou'd think a young guy who snagged a song on the soundtrack for Disney's kids flick Planes: Fire & Rescue would make his next move with some more innocent pop music.
But not Spencer Lee. The 22-year-old Kansas native, who sang Planes' leading track "Still I Fly," has just released his first record "Bubblegum", a super sexy soulful track that he describes as a "raunchy little pop song that sticks to ya."
"I wanted to go in a new a direction with my debut record," he says. "I wanted to head down South. So to speak."
And that's exactly what he does in the video for "Bubblegum," which features Lee and a smokin' hot model in all sorts of compromising positions.
"If I can, I want to make art that has Johnny Cash's guts, Keith Richards' swagger and Stevie Wonder's soul." Lee told teen.com earlier this summer. "I love that hard edge in Nirvana's guitars, and the locked, sexy grooves on [Michael Jackson] or Prince. Basically anything that comes from a place that's raw and visceral, from artists who draw from a deeper, more intimate, maybe even darker place."
