Melissa Rivers is speaking out this morning to thank everyone on behalf of her mother Joan Rivers for the outpouring of well wishes.
In an exclusive statement to E! News, Melissa says:
"My mother would be so touched by the tributes and prayers that we have received from around the world. Her condition remains serious but she is receiving the best treatment and care possible. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts as we pray for her recovery."
The E! Fashion Police host suffered complications from a minor throat procedure yesterday morning in New York City.
The 81-year-old was then rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was placed in a medically induced coma.
Melissa and her son, Cooper, flew across the country yesterday to be by the comic legend's side.
Joan remains in stable, yet critical, condition following the morning's events.
A rep for the hospital released the following statement:
"This morning, Joan Rivers was taken to The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where she is being attended to. Her family wants to thank everybody for their outpouring of love and support. We will provide an update on her condition as it becomes available."
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Rivers family at this time.
