We're still recovering from the news that everyone's favorite feline cartoon character Hello Kitty is not—we repeat not!—a cat. In fact, the 40-year-old Sanrio-created character isn't even Japanese, she's British!

Sanrio confirmed the shocking news yesterday by saying, "Hello Kitty is not a cat, she's a girl." Lies!

Needless to say, fans we're overwhelmed by the life-changing news. Many celebs even took to Twitter to react to the news.
