Apparently Brandy's mom had some trouble keeping up with the Kardashians' credit card bills.
Sonia Norwood, mother of the R&B singer, filed suit against Kim Kardashian Monday, accusing the reality star of running up more than $120,000 in charges on Norwood's American Express card without permission in 2006 and 2007. (View the court documents.)
The lawsuit, which also names Kim's siblings, Khloe, Kourtney and Robert Jr., alleges Kim was only authorized to use the card to make one purchase for Brandy while working as the singer's stylist in 2004.
Norwood claims in her court documents that Kim not only continued to use the card but passed the number on to her siblings, who also made unauthorized purchases, including items at two Kardashian-owned clothing stores, Dash and Smooch.
In all, the Kardashian clan racked up a total of $120,636 in charges, Norwood claims.
She is seeking the return of the money, plus 10 percent interest.
Kim and her family denied Norwood's claims in a statement issued by Kardashian publicist Cindy Guagenti.
"The charges against the Kardashians are meritless. Both Kim and Khloe were employed by the Norwoods and never used their credit cards without their express authorization," the statement said.
"The Kardashian family looks forward to proving the absurdity of these claims in a court of law."
The Kardashians are currently featured in the E! reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which has been picked up for a second season. (E! Online is a division of E! Entertainment Television.)
There was no immediate word from the plaintiff's camp on why Norwood didn't bring the lawsuit earlier or why she didn't cancel the card or challenge the charges when she initially received the bills.
Aside from being Brandy's formal stylist, Kim Kardashian also dated the Grammy winner's brother, William "Ray J" Norwood Jr.
