Like it or not, Britney Spears got to spend some quality time with her folks on Monday.

Both Lynne and Jamie Spears dropped by UCLA Medical Center to visit their daughter, whose initial psych stay was extended by up to 14 days over the weekend.

Lynne arrived at around 4 p.m., while Jamie showed up at 6:45, E! News has learned.

The parents, who divorced in May 2002, left in separate cars at 9:45 p.m. Both were trailed by the swarms of paparazzi accustomed to following their daughter's every move.

On Monday, Jamie was granted conservatorship of his 26-year-old daughter and her finances through Feb. 14.

A lawyer for Britney argued unsuccessfully that she did not want her father in control of her affairs; however, a court-appointed attorney told the judge he interviewed the singer on Sunday and determined she did not understand the proceedings and was not competent to retain counsel.

In addition to extending Jamie's temporary control over his daughter, Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz also barred the singer from contacting her friend and sometime manager, Sam Lufti and extended a restraining order against him.

For his part, Lutfi remained unfazed by the court's attempts to keep him away from Britney and dismissed the idea that her parents would be able to maintain their newfound hold over her.

"It won't last," he told Us Weekly.

"They're never gonna be able to rule her forever."
