Well, as it turns out, the True Blood hunk was actually across town at the Hollywood Bowl where he caught Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden live in concert.
E! News caught up with the Modern Family bombshell on the red carpet and asked why she went solo (and by solo, we mean with her entire family and co-stars) to the annual awards show.
"He's really hot, that's why I didn't bring him," Vergara playfully explained. "He's too hot, too tall, he takes a lot of space, so I'm like, ‘Listen Joe, please don't come.' Too handsome, too sexy."
And while Vergara joked that Manganiello was "too hot for the red carpet," the brunette beauty dished that her connection with the actor goes far beneath the surface.
"We're having a lot of fun. We've been going out for just like two months and a half and he's a really funny guy, which is something really important for me and very nice guy," the actress gushed.
She also opened up about her new health kick, and why she's not one to rush to extreme measures to slim down.
"The older I get the more conscious I am to do more healthy things, now I'm working out more, I'm trying to eat healthier—do juices with vegetables and things that they tell you that are good for you. I try to do everything in moderation," she told us.
