While Jared Leto (and his luscious locks) may not have been in attendance at the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, there were still a number of memorable hair moments among the males who were present.

Case in point? Fans were swooning over True Detective director Cary Fukunaga—and his impressive ponytail braid—when he took the stage to accept the accolade for Best Directing in a Drama Series.

The good-looking star, who is half-Swedish and half-Japanese, showed off his chiseled features as stood in front of the jam-packed audience, instantly igniting a flurry of tweets which saw fans drooling over the studly star.

But it wasn't just about the man braid at the 2014 Emmys, the ever-popular man bun also made an appearance, thanks to the wildly handsome Kit Harrington

The 27-year-old hottie is famous for his mane on Game of Thrones and even recently revealed that his hair "has its own contract."

"I'm just not allowed to cut it, and I didn't realize this until recently," he said during an appearance on Live With Kelly and Michael in June. "I wanted to cut it. I've had long hair for ages, and they were like, 'No, no, no, that won't be happening."

And it's safe to say Harrington's fans are satisfied with HBO's demands (rock that man bun, Kit!).

Last, but certainly not least is the good-looking Jon Hamm, who may not opt to change the hair on his head, but is quite a chameleon when it comes to the facial hair department.

The Mad Men star sported a full beard at the 2014 Emmys, just like he did at last year's awards show. We caught up with Jon Hamm's stylist and celebrity grooming expert Diana Schmidtke, who explained how they achieved the perfect bearded look for the actor.

"We used a trimmer to make sure the beard was the same length and to make sure it had shape. A well-groomed beard also has a definitive end: two to four inches down the neck. The neck should be shaved to create that beginning and end," explained Diana.

There's no doubt Hamm looks handsome whether clean-shaven or with scruff—and he most certainly can rock a beard better than the rest. And for all you guys out there, now you know exactly how to achieve a Jon Hamm-level beard.
