Christine Baranski will never forget working with Robin Williams in The Birdcage.

"I will remember most our scene where we sang and danced," The Good Wife star told me on the Emmys red carpet. "It's still one of my favorite scenes on film that I've ever done.

"There was a sweetness to it and there was a sweetness to him as a human being," Baranski continued.

She and Williams were both students at The Julliard School at the same time. "He was a beautiful, beautiful giant talent," Baranski said.

Billy Crystal paid tribute to the late Oscar winner during the telecast's in memoriam segment.

"As genius as he was onstage, he was the greatest friend you could ever imagine—supportive, protective, loving," he said. "It's very hard to talk about him in the past because he's so present in all of our lives. For almost 40 years, he was the brightest star in the comedy galaxy, but though some of the brightest stars are extinct now..."

"They float in the heavens, so far away form us now, their beautiful light will continue to shine on us forever...[and sometimes] you'll think to yourselves, 'Robin Williams, what a concept.'"
