With Joe Manganiello M.I.A., Sofía Vergara was in need of a dance partner!

Who better than Derek Hough to show her how to shimmy? After the star-studded crowd got down to The Isley Brothers' 1959 classic "Shout" at HBO's Emmys afterparty Monday night, the Modern Family star, 42, and the Dancing With the Stars pro, 29, got their groove on to Ray Charles' 1961 hit single "Hit the Road Jack." As an eyewitness tells E! News, "Everyone formed a giant circle around them to watch!"

The event took place inside The Plaza at the Pacific Design Center. At one point in the night,  Hough jumped on stage and performed with the Golden Oldies' band.

At the same party, Girls' Allison Williams was overheard telling Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery how "gorgeous" her Rosie Assoulin dress was. Williams' co-star Lena Dunham wore a polarizing Giambattista Valli ensemble that featured a tulle skirt. When the actress walked by fellow HBO star Justin Theroux, a partygoer says the Leftovers actor "needed to back out of the way because the train was so massive."

Gossip Girl's Kelly Rutherford made sure to introduce herself to Fox News' Bill O'Reilly, while three-time Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series winner Aaron Paul danced with wife Lauren Parsekian.

Other famous guests included Judd Apatow, Julie Bowen, Jeff Daniels, Tony Hale, Sarah Hyland, Padma Lakshmi, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ryan Murphy, Jim Parsons, Paula Patton, Jon Voight and Kristen Wiig.

The Governors Ball was hosted in the West Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center. Patina Catering prepared the menu, starting with a grilled peach and heirloom salad, followed by a filet of beef with a potato "bone" filled with golden potato puree, caramelized cippolini, crisp lacinato kale and zephyr squash in a red wine and artisan grapes sauce. For dessert, guests enjoyed decadent chocolate s'mores.

Judith Hill, The Red Hot Band, Extreme Beam, Debbie Allen Dance Academy and String Theory performed for guests including Carson Daly, Anna Gunn, Woody Harrelson, Jimmy Kimmel, Heidi Klum, Jessica Lange, Lucy Liu and Octavia Spencer. The Governors Ball brought back the "Emmy Winner's Circle," where award recipients like Bryan Cranston stopped by to get his golden statuette personalized.

Other attendees included Angela Bassett, Lizzy Caplan, Louis C.K., Minnie Driver, Idris Elba, Christina Hendricks, January Jones, Matt LeBlanc, Kate Mara, Zac Posen, Mark Ruffalo and Liev Schreiber.

AMC's bash was held at Boa Steakhouse. Fred Armisen, Patricia Arquette, Betsy Brandt, Kate Flannery, Harry Hamlin, Jon Hamm, Lisa Rinna and Jennifer Westfeldt were among the network's famous guests.

Fox, 20th Century Fox Television, FX Networks and National Geographic Channel's afterparty took place at Vibiana. Cat Deeley, Nolan Gould, Max Greenfield, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Sarah Paulson, Gabourey Sidibe, Allison Tollman, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Kate Walsh and Ariel Winter showed up for it.

Netflix hosted a party for its own stars at Chateau Marmont. House of Cards nominees Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright posed for pictures, while Orange Is the New Black's Uzo Aduba, Laverne Cox, Danielle Brooks, Taryn Manning, Dascha Polanco, Laura Prepon and Taylor Schilling mingled with their crew. Arrested Development's Will Arnett also shared a laugh with Derek's Ricky Gervais, who was a nominee.
