Mum's the word for Samantha Morton.

The British actress and fiancé Harry Holm welcomed a daughter, their first child together, Friday in London, according to People.

As of Monday the couple hadn't yet decided on a name, but publicist Karon Maskill told the magazine, "It is fantastic news and both mom and baby are doing brilliantly."

Morton also has a daughter, Esme, who will be 8 next month, from her relationship with actor Charlie Creed-Miles. Holm popped the question on May 13, 2006, Morton's 29th birthday, about a year after they met when he directed her in a music video for the band the Victims.

They haven't yet been able to set aside enough time to tie the knot because of various career commitments.

Morton, a two-time Oscar nominee for Sweet and Lowdown and In America, scored a Golden Globe nomination last month for supporting actress in a TV series, miniseries or movie for her role in the HBO film Longford, about British politico Lord Longford.

The Nottingham native could be found in both the multiplexes and the art house last year, first in Elizabeth: The Golden Age, playing Mary Stuart, and then in the black-and-white Ian Curtis biopic Control.

Up next for her is The Daisy Chain and Charlie Kaufman's upcoming mind trip, Synecdoche, New York. That crackerjack cast includes Phillip Seymour Hoffman as a theater director on the verge of a breakdown, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Emily Watson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Michelle Williams, Dianne Wiest and Hope Davis.

Holm is the son of actor Ian Holm.
