Miley Cyrus is returning to the scene of the crime.

I can exclusively reveal that the "We Can't Stop" singer will be attending the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday in L.A.

If for some reason you forgot, it was at last year's show that Cyrus and Robin Thicke shocked the world with their controversial twerk-filled duet.

A rep for MTV confirms that Cyrus will be in attendance at this year's Moonman awards.

The show will open with a performance of "Bang, Bang" with Jessie J, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande. Taylor Swift is also on the roster as is Beyoncé, who is receiving the Video Vanguard Award.

Sam Smith will make his U.S. award show debut with "Stay With Me."

Beyoncé leads the pack with eight nominations, followed by Eminem and Iggy Azalea with seven apiece.

The top award, Video of the Year, will be a battle between Beyoncé's "Drunk In Love," Azalea's "Fancy," Pharrell Williams' "Happy," Sia's "Chandelier" and Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball." Things have certainly changed since last year when Swift was the lone female up for video of the year. Only one male, Pharrell, makes the list this time around.

Lucy Hale hosts the show, which will air on MTV at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
