As a field producer and host, Will Marfuggi is kind of an expert when it comes to essentials for a successful red carpet.

Aside from items like mints and water, which are more of the obvious necessities for a long day interviewing celebs, Will also said things like a dry erase board, bandana and a good stage manager also help the production team run an on-air red carpet smoothly.

From the Emmys to the Oscars, take a look at the essentials Will relies on during a big red carpet day!

1. Mints: This one is self-explanatory. Whether working as a producer or as a host on the red carpet, it's best to keep bad breath at bay. Keeping mints on deck can definitely help with that.

2. Water: Water is also a necessity. Carpets can go for a long time, particularly when it's a big awards show day. Even when it's not hot outside, it's important to stay hydrated with everything a producer/host has to tackle during the course of the event.

3. Scripts/Rundown: Will says this is the most important thing when it comes to staying on track during a live show.  The scripts and the rundown also need to be organized so that producers can access what they need to quickly and hosts/correspondents know what's coming next.

4. Dry Erase Board: "I use a dry erase board to write notes to the people I'm working with," Will told us. "It let's them know which celebrity will be our next interview or if we're going to a commercial break."

5. Bandana: Will doesn't have a bandana on hand to look cool. Instead, he uses it as an eraser for the dry erase board. "That way I don't have a separate eraser that I might drop and bounce into the frame or under a celeb's feet," he said.

6. E! News Stage Manager: Will said E! News stage manager Tom McNamara and the rest of his team on the platform at an awards show are also one of his biggest essentials. "We've been doing this together for a long time," he said. "We have trust and a rhythm. We know what works and what doesn't and when things go wrong we have each other's backs.

7. The E! Live From the Red Carpet Team: "Come to think of it a lot of us have been doing live shows together for a long time," Will said of the red carpet crew. "Everyone from the PA's, producers, and all the technical folks, the ones in the truck shot and the ones you'll never see are the best at what they do and a joy to work with."
