Willam Hung was infamously rejected on American Idol back in 2003, but he got someone to accept his marriage proposal!

The 31-year-old, whose rendition of Ricky Martin's "She Bangs" was ripped apart by Simon Cowell during season three auditions, got married on June 18, his rep told E! News Thursday.

According to RumorFix, who was first to report the wedding news, Hung now works as an administrative assistant for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. Back in 2012, he told RumorFix he had a "pretty cool" new job with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Crime Analysis Program.

"I enjoy what I do—pretty much everything," he said at the time. "I feel like working for [the] police department has a lot of value."

While Hung no longer works in the entertainment industry, he did achieve some musical success following his Idol audition fail. At the height of his fame, he made three musical albums, reportedly selling 200,000 units. In 2006, he played himself on an episode of Arrested Development.

Hung has said, too, that his Idol experience changed his life "definitely for the better," explaining, "Because people know who I am, I get to associate with more people."

Who knows? If he hadn't tried out for Idol then, he might not be with his spouse now! In any case, mazel tov!
