The season finale for legal drama Suits airs tonight on USA at 9 at p.m., and it's totally worth your time to watch. The captivating television series has been renewed for a fifth season and we're all anxious to see what's going to happen next at our favorite TV law firm. We caught up with actress Sarah Rafferty, who gives Donna her secretary star power, about her off-camera beauty hacks, motherhood and the magical cure-all cream that everyone should know about.
So, do redheads have more fun?
The fiery personality comes with the territory! Most people expect us to be fiery, so there is no need to ever apologize.
What are three essentials in your purse right now?
Currently, essentials in my purse are directly related to my kids. Amidst the crayon/lollipop/cheddar bunny detritus, is a package of wipes and a tub of Egyptian Magic. Everyone should know about this cream, which is a great multi-purpose product—hand lotion, lip balm, diaper cream, even hair conditioner! Of course, the iPad is fully loaded with books and kid-friendly apps to ward off any car seat/grocery store/airplane meltdown.
What's your two-second beauty fix?
The Nars Multiple Stick in South Beach. It's the perfect fast fixer-upper that I use on my eyelids, cheeks and lips for highlight and color.
Fitness or diet fad you would never consider?
Is the Master Cleanse still a thing? You know, the one where you only live on lemon water. Yeah, that's just not gonna happen.
Name a beauty secret that you learned from a wise, older woman.
I have the most random childhood memory of my grandmother teaching me to use a burnt match stick for eyeliner. She said that she use to use it all the time during the war when cosmetics were rationed! I still have yet to try it, though.
Your biggest fashion splurge?
I tend to splurge on shoes and boots. My favorites are Golden Goose boots, Isabel Marant booties and sparkly gold Louboutins. My daughters love to play dress up, so I rationalize the financial guilt because they are sometimes used as toys!
A fashion trend you love, but your husband hates?
I have a pair of silk Clover Canyon drop-crotch, elaborately patterned drawstring pants that I always get loads of compliments on. My husband said, "One day you'll have to explain those pants to me."
Your favorite things to do when you're not on set?
I love the mountains and I love to travel. Take me skiing or hiking and I'm in my happy place. Here's a snap—remember self-timers?—of my husband and I hiking in New Zealand.
