At Saturday's Creative Arts Emmys, Joe Morton from Scandal took home the award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama for playing the scariest dad we're glad we don't have! Seriously, this is the only time we don't envy Olivia Pope's (Kerry Washington) life. (We'll gladly take her love triangle off her hands though!)
It's Morton's first Emmy nomination (and win!), and he's also set to present at the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday.
So to celebrate some of our favorite first-timers this season, we asked them all five burning questions. Now, it's Morton's turn in the hot seat. Check out his answers below:
1. What was your first job?
My first job was working in a dry cleaners when I was in high school. My first TV job was so long ago I had to look it up on IMDB. I thought it was The Equalizer but it turns out it was Mission Impossible in 1970. But my first big TV gig was Equal Justice with Sarah Jessica Parker, Jon Tenney, Barry Miller, Jane Kaczmarek, and Debrah Farentino; directed by Thomas Carter.
2. Which other TV show would you love to guest star on?
I would have loved an arc on Breaking Bad, unfortunately it's over; besides, Giancarlo Esposito got the role I would have wanted. I'd love to do something sinister on House of Cards...maybe Rowan facing off against Frank Underwood. (Ed. note: We'd watch the crap out of that!)
3. List three things you'll have with you on Emmy night.
My wits, my toothpicks, and my Lietzeenut. (Ed. note: Joe's girlfriend is Christine Lietz.)
4. Who do you most want to share a drink with?
President Barack Obama, but I don't think he'll be there that night.
5. Who do you most want to take a selfie with?
All the actors/nominees in my category...it'll be as if we all won.
