Oh, Chris Martin, can we consciously couple?!

The Coldplay singer—aka Gwyneth Paltrow's ex—just has one of those voices that makes everything sound truly lovely. iHeartRadio took full advantage of this by having the 37-year-old father of two sing emotionally about ordinary objects in a segment they called, "Emotional Objects with Chris Martin."

In the endearingly giggle-filled clip, Chris is first handed a brown loafer, or as he describes it "an old shoe." Although he initially looks perplexed, he quickly overcomes any doubt, singing soulfully, "Old shoe/ Where have you been? One of the nicest that I've ever seen/ You've got a hole in your soul."

After that, the "Princess of China" singer manages to romanticize an "old banana" in song before tackling "a BlackBerry (the saddest tale of all)" through song. He got a pretty good riff on that one—"The president used you/ Then people abused you"—before he succumbed to a fit of laughter.

He's a charmer, that one, and it's easy to see why he and Gwynnie have been able to consciously uncouple on such good terms. As Moses and Apple's dad recently told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM radio show, "There's lots of love, and that's it."

He clarified, in an interview with the Valentine in the Morning radio show, that, "the thing we told everyone at the beginning of the year is true. We are very close. We are not together. But we're, you know, that's the truth and that's it."

We accept that. After all, they broke the separation news on Goop, so you know that it's trustworthy.
