Daniel Radcliffe Rates His Own Harry Potter Performances—Find Out Which Flick He Hates!

Daniel Radcliffe isn't afraid to fess up to his self-deprecating demeanor.

"It's more important for me to be very critical because I've grown up in an atmosphere where everyone is always wanting to be nice to me and say what I'm doing is great," the former Harry Potter star muses in a recent interview with MailOnline. "And so you don't trust that. Ultimately you have to look to yourself or a handful of people to get a proper opinion. I'm seriously critical of myself—if I wasn't I would be worried."

Always keen on bettering himself, the 25-year-old stud admits to watching the Harry Potter flicks with an intention of finding fault in his work, and despite the praise for his acting, the handsome Britt would prefer if his early endeavors were not caught on camera.

"I never liked watching myself on film but I do make myself sit through it," he says. "And that's why it's hard to watch a film like Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince, because I'm just not very good in it. I hate it."

Although Radcliffe calls the Potter films an "incredible blessing," he can't help but express his distaste for his own personal performances.

"My acting is very one-note and I can see I got complacent and what I was trying to do just didn't come across," he explains. "My best film is the fifth one [Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix] because I can see a progression."

While the beloved boy wizard may still have trouble shedding his Potter persona, he has come into his own after starring in films such as Kill Your Darlings in addition to the play Equus, where he went fully nude on stage.

"I certainly think that after Kill Your Darlings and my role on Broadway in The Cripple of Inishmaan, the debate as to whether I can do things outside of Potter is near to ending," he admits (presumably breathing a sigh of relief).

Meanwhile, Radcliffe makes his rom-com debut in the flick What If, in which he plays a boy who falls in love with his best friend.

"I think this is the part where I play someone most like myself," he reveals. "I'm definitely the geeky guy who wants to be in a relationship. And it was a big thing for me to do a modern-day romance. There was no point in this film where I had to get covered in blood, or cry over the body of someone, or pull someone out of a muddy bog."

The Woman in Black actor is currently dating his Kill Your Darlings co-star Erin Darke, who must have both beauty and brains, considering the celeb says he only goes for "intelligent girls."

"I'm a serial monogamist, though," he admits. "I think the shortest relationship that I was in was six months and I think I've been pretty lucky because I've never gone for the wrong type of girl."

Radcliffe, who also shares that he's "never actually been dumped," adds that he's hasn't had to worry about girls dating him for the wrong reasons because he's a "pretty good judge of character."

Unless, of course, he's assessing his acting ability (don't be so hard on yourself, Daniel!).
