Gone, but certainly not forgotten.
That's the sentiment many Whitney Houston fans are feeling Saturday as they celebrate the late singer's birthday.
But for the Grammy-winning singer's daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, August 9 holds even more meaning. Throughout the day, the 21-year-old has taken to social media to commemorate her mom's special day.
"GoodMorningWorld ! & AGrandBeautifulPhenomenalWonderful HappyHappyHappyBirthday2my amazingMommy!" she Tweeted. " 2day is YOUR day, Iloveulady! @nickdgordon"
Later in the afternoon, Brown Tweeted another birthday wish, this time with a tasty cake included.
Houston, who developed a huge fan base with hits including "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," "Greatest Love Of All" and "I Will Always Love You" passed away Feb. 11, 2012 at a Beverly Hills hotel. She was 48.
Since her death, Brown found love and got married to Nick Gordon in January 2014.
"#HappilyMarried," she wrote after the secret wedding. "SO #Inlove. If you didn't get it the first time that is."
She also has repaired her relationship with her dad, Bobby Brown. The father-daughter duo enjoyed a peaceful dinner together this past Father's Day. "My face says it all, I love you daddy," Bobbi said.
