Samantha Harris is powering through.

The TV personality and former member of the E! family was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and, after undergoing a double mastectomy in May, she's facing her second stage of reconstructive surgery at the end of this month.

"And I'm like, ‘Let's go, let's do this thing!'" Harris told E! News cohost Giuliana Rancic in a recent sit-down, more of which will air on Giuliana's Beyond Candid series.

Asked about her initial diagnosis, which didn't come until months after she first felt a suspicious lump, Harris told "soul sister" and fellow breast cancer survivor Rancic that she just refused to take "it's nothing" for an answer.

"What made you so persistent?" Rancic asked.

"The fact that it was still there after four months from finding it, this lump that I found—clear mammogram, 11 days later found a lump," recalled Harris, who also cohosted Dancing With the Stars for seven seasons, until 2009. "I thought, if I have to live with this lump, whatever it is, I need to know it's nothing."

She ultimately found out that it wasn't nothing. Despite the double mastectomy, the married mother of two also found out that the cancer had spread to a lymph node, but she chose to pass on chemotherapy.

But even though the going has been rough, Harris has a heck of a support system at home.

"They were both really good about it," she said about her two daughters. "They were helpers, they brought me things, they checked on me—and we just continually assured them that, ‘Mommy's going to be in bed for a little bit, but then I'm going to be fine.'"

And such has been the case.
