Looks like somebody has changed his tune...

Almost three years after Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine slammed the MTV Video Music Awards by bluntly tweeting, "F--k you, VMAs," the band has now been officially confirmed as a performer for the upcoming event.

So what happened?!

While it's unclear why Adam and MTV decided to smooth things over, the cable network announced early this morning (and presumably, made a point to do so via Twitter) that the group is expected to take the VMA stage on August 24.

The post was accompanied by a pic of the newlywed gazing down at a "Moonman" award, which is a pretty bold move of MTV considering the network previously dared Levine to share a similar Twitpic during their 2011 social media war.

Although the musician has yet to comment on the band's upcoming performance, he certainly didn't hold back while sharing his feelings about the award show back in 2011.

"The VMAs [are the] one day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I'm drawing a line in the sand. F--k you, VMAs," Levine wrote at the time. Just 30 minutes later, he expressed his sentiments once again, writing, "Still waiting to have my 'Jerry Maguire mission statement moment of deep regret.' Not happening. Phew!"

And in case that wasn't enough to get his point across, the hitmaker also opened up to E! News, saying that most of his fellow musicians feel the same way, "they just don't say it."

"It's public knowledge that it's not a music channel," he said, adding that there are some upsides, just not enough. "It's become a huge promotional opportunity for artists, which is a good thing. I think that great artists were there and they were represented and there could have been more."

Maroon 5's forthcoming album V hits shelves just over a week after the VMAs air.

With that being said, we'll let you all guess why these two decided to squash their beef.
