Adrienne Bailon Responds to Kim Kardashian: If Anyone Should Understand Where I'm Coming From, It Should Be You

"What makes you 'famous' isn't always what you want to be 'labeled' as, or known for. If anyone should understand that...It should be you."

The back-and-forth continues.

Adrienne Bailon was recently on the receiving-end of a pretty blunt response from Kim Kardashian regarding the 3LW singer's interview with Latina magazine, where she dredged up her past romance with Rob Kardashian and dissed her ex-boyfriend's famous family.

"Funny how she says being with a Kardashian hurt her career yet the only reason she has this article is bc she is talking about a Kardashian," Kim wrote, adding, "#LetItGoooooLetItGoooooo (FROZEN VOICE)." In her third and final tweet, she said, "So sad when people try to kick my brother when he is down #FamilyForever."

So what did Adrienne have to say to that?

Well, Bailon indirectly responded to Kim's social media jab with, um, another social media post.

The 30-year-old singer and actress, who captioned her response "#Godbless" on Instagram, wrote, "Fame and a career are two different things. I've always had a career. I have been working hard since I was 15 years old. Being someone's 'girlfriend' was never what I wanted to be famous for."

She continued, "What makes you 'famous' isn't always what you want to be 'labeled' as, or known for. If anyone should understand that...It should be you.

"I also stated in the article that none of this would have stopped me from being in love and being in that relationship. I just would have gone about it differently. You can love someone just as much in private. We all learn from our first loves."

Along with discussing the infidelity in her relationship with Rob, Adrienne explained that she regretted letting their romance play out on the small screen.

"To be stuck with that Kardashian label, that was so hurtful to me and to my career," the "Big Spender" singer claims, without explaining how. "I probably realized that too late—not that it would've affected my decisions in terms of who I dated, but it would've affected my decision to appear on the show."

"At the time, I didn't think anyone would even care," Adrienne continues. "To this day, people will still say, 'You ruined Rob's life!' And I'll think, 'Damn, I was still playing with Barbie dolls when I met him.'"
