The 72-year-old actor broke his left leg on the Star Wars: Episode VII set last month, but fortunately, co-star Mark Hamill confirmed that Han Solo is on the mend!
"I was not on set. It was really terrible, but I hear he's doing really well," Hamill told the BBC at the U.K. premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy. "It will take more than that to stop Harrison Ford."
Amen to that! For his part, though, Hamill's return to the role of Luke Skywalker after 30 years was, as he described it, an "unexpected gift."
"It was certainly unexpected," he added. I already had a beginning, middle and end. I never thought we'd come back…To go on to those sets that evoked so many memories. It is just astonishing."
Hamill, 62, starred in the three original Star Wars films, which were released in 1977, 1980 and 1983. When the franchise was revived in 2002, his character was only seen as a baby (so obviously, Hamill wasn't cast in that flick).
But Star Wars: Episode VII is bringing back Hamill, Ford, and fellow veterans Kenny Baker, Anthony Daniels, Carrie Fisher and Peter Mayhew. Newcomers include Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson and Lupita Nyong'o.
The film is expected to hit theaters on Dec. 18, 2015
