We've spent the last few days ragging on celebrities in awkward skin-suits (sorry Chrissy Teigen and Maggie Gyllenhaal) but The X Factor judge is making us sing a very different tune about the body-colored shade. This Zuhair Murad Couture is as drop dead gorgeous as it gets! So where did this newlywed go right where others have gone wrong?
First off, the tone of this look is slightly more pink than yellow, making the overall look more rosy than "skin." Yes, Cheryl's tanned complexion helps balance that, but the base color of the dress plays a huge part. The second factor is a diversity of fabric. We have lace, chiffon and more on this custom creation, meaning it doesn't come off flat, again like actual skin. And finally, a tiny bit of sparkle thanks to that lighter shade of lace gives some depth and contour, but not of the paint-your-face quality.
So kudos to Cheryl for finally cracking the code. Too bad the rest of us can't exactly afford this dress.
