The 41-year-old beauty phoned in to the Kyle and Jackie O radio show on Tuesday with her Sex Tape costar Jason Segel, although she choose to abruptly end the interview after host Kyle Sandilands took a jab at her bestie Drew Barrymore's past drug use before proceeding to bring up Diaz's boyfriendBenji Madden

Yeah, that happened.

The interview started off smoothly, with the two gushing over their kiddie costars in flick before Jackie O remarks that Giselle Eisenberg, the actress who plays Diaz's daughter in the comedy flick, reminds her of Drew Barrymore in the 1982 classic E.T.

"Oh yeah that's cute, yes, she does now that you mention it, and she's as bright and lively as Drew is as well," Cameron replied, clearly pleased with the comment. "She's a sweet little girl."

And that's when things took a turn for the worse after Sandilands chimed in and made a remark aimed at the blond stunner's longtime bestie.

"Let's hope she misses out on the Drew Barrymore drug years, because those were a great thing to watch, but not so good to be in, I'd imagine," he said.

Cue Cam jumping to her BFF's defense.

"I'm sure Kyle you've never been through a drug phase, have you?" Diaz fired back. "Or alcoholism, or anything like that. You're pretty clean? Always did it right? Congratulations."

Despite Diaz's demeanor, the radio host followed up by mentioning the actress' boyfriend, Benji Madden, whom she has yet to speak about publically.

After an awkward pause, Jackie takes control of the conversation and asked Segel about his recent weight loss, but after he answers the question, Cameron politely cuts the interview short.

"We're having to go now," she said. "Sorry, they're wrapping us up." (Talk about a consummate professional.)

Following the abrupt ending, Jackie doesn't hold back as she scolds her co-host and accusses him of butchering the interview.

"Well, that started very well and ended poorly, I think," she said. "Good one, Kyle. You ruined that interview. Sorry to be blunt. You brought up Drew Barrymore, her best friend's drug addiction in the past...She's her best friend. And then you brought up Benji. We all know how protective Cameron is about her private life."

However, Sandilands didn't seem to find fault with his comments and simply brushed off the criticism. "Maybe they should've just bought ads if they wanted to sell the movie," he replied.

If only Cam had still been on the line.
