How Goopy is it?

Blake Lively's new website Preserve is officially up and running (two days early, no less!), and you know what that means.

Cue the Goop comparisons.

There's no denying Gwyneth Paltrow blazed the trail for Blake; she's a fellow blond actress who launched a lifestyle website. But how Goopy is Blake's Preserve, actually?

We're breaking out our magnifying glasses and taking a look at the similarities and differences and seeing where Perserve lands on the Goop scale.

What's Goopy

A-Z Topics: Like Goop, Preserve aims to cover a wide range of lifestyle topics. Blake says it in her own words in an editor's letter: "The function of Preserve is part magazine, part e-commerce hub, part philanthropic endeavor and above all, a place to showcase the power of imagination, ingenuity, quality, and above all, people."

Good Eats: Preserve seems like it'll have a heavy emphasis on food. The site's recipe for "Kick Ass Baby Back Pork Ribs" is making our mouths water. And even though Goop highlights healthy fare, you can actually find a pulled pork recipe on Gwyneth's site, too!

Gift Shop: Both sites have e-commerce components. Right now you can peruse Goop's exclusive collabs with brands like Cynthia Rowley, Steven Alan and Sonya Dakar. Over on Blake's site, you can scoop up goods like a printed maxi dress or a bottle of curry ketchup.

Giving Back: Emphasis on charity is big for both Blake and Gwyneth. Preserve has a "Greater Good" section similar to the "Goop Giving" section. Preserve will also donate 5 percent of every purchase towards their goal of "giving 5,000 children a meal, 2,000 children a blanket, and 2,700 children a warm hoodie."

You've Got Mail: Both Preserve and Goop offer an e-mail subscription service to readers.

What's Not-So-Goopy

Color Scheme: Maybe most notably Blake's site looks a lot different from Gwyneth's. With a black background and scripty font, Preserve feels a tad grittier and "down home" in comparison to Goop's bright, clean and airy vibe.

Southern Charm: While Goop has a decidedly upstate New York feel (currently the site offers a "Hamptons Summer Update"), Blake invites readers to take a trip down South. The site has a lively New Orleans spirit and a no-frills attitude. And we can't help but take note of article titles like "Backwoods Barbie."

Artisan-Focused: E-commerce is a big part of Preserve and Goop, but the type of stuff they sell is fairly different. While Goop has collabs with big name designers, Blake's site offers more mom and pop-type stuff. In that sense, Blake's shop is more similar to Lauren Conrad's The Little Market.

OK, so what's our general takeaway here? Blake and Gwyneth may both be blondes with lifestyle websites, but the overall vibe and feel of Preserve and Goop is way different.
