Clear eyes, full hearts, MMA!

DirecTV's highly anticipated new series Kingdom, which debuts in October, is staging a Friday Night Lights reunion, as Alicia Witt is set to guest star, E! News has exclusively learned.

Witt will reunite with FNL co-star Matt Lauria, who stars in Kingdom as Ryan, when she appears in one episode as Melanie, a down-to-earth and smart woman who is stuck in a bad marriage. She'll strike up a conversation with Ryan in a bar when she is in L.A. on a year business trip. Funnily enough, Witt played Cheryl, the mother of Lauria's Friday Night Lights love interest. (From mother [in-law] to lover?!)

But Witt isn't the only new face joining DirecTV's Kingdom...

E! News can also exclusively reveal that Jamie Kennedy will guest star as Bucky, a low-level fight promoter who has a reputation for being a sleazy cheat. Set to appear in two episodes, The Ghost Whisperer and Scream alum's character Bucky will be a bit star-struck when he crosses paths with Ryan, whose drug addiction landed him in prison and derailed his promising career.

Set in Venice, Calif., Kingdom is set in the renegade subculture of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), and stars Jonathan Tucker and Nick Jonas (Yep, that Nick Jonas!) as Jay and Nate, the sons of MMA legend and gym owner Alvey, played by Frank Grillo. Also starring in the series, which comes from Bryan Balasco, are Kiele Sanchez and Joanna Going.

Kingdom premieres Oct. 8 on DirecTV.
