Multiple reports are claiming the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting baby No. 2, and while Kensington Palace has yet to comment, there are certainly a number of tell-tale signs that suggest the royal baby will soon become a big brother.
So is a pregnancy announcement imminent as the future King of England prepares to ring in the big 0-1? Let's examine the possible evidence:
The Odds Are In Her Favor: Bookies have begun suspending betting on Kate's pregnancy, due to a flood of online bets overnight. The suspension puts all bets on hold for what much of the gambling world believes to be true—that Prince William and Kate Middleton are expecting their second child. Online gaming and betting company Ladbrokes confirmed to E! News that they have suspended betting, with a rep explaining that many "are still convinced the young couple have been making the most out of their new home, and the odds suggest a second nursery is imminent." Prior to the suspension, the odds that Will and Kate would announce baby No. 2 this year were listed at 4-1 but jumped up to 8-11 before all bets were put on hold. As for the odds of the second child's name? Victoria and James lead the list, both with odds of 6-1.
Unusual Wardrobe Choices: While Kate Middleton certainly isn't prancing around in a pair of baggy overalls, the mother of one has been making some surprising choices in the fashion department. Case in point? She wore a green coat to celebrate the start of the Tour de France in July, zipping up the jacket (wasn't it hot outside?) and even concealing her tummy with a small clutch. Just a few days prior, she was photographed wearing a belted red dress, and, once again, covered her belly with a purse (and yes, we realize it's a small handbag, but hey, Kate never had a big baby bump). Her high-waisted nautical look from late June could also conceal a possible pregnant belly, and there's no denying that giant bouquet of flowers she's carrying in front of her blue coat seem a bit strategically placed.
It's Time for a Spare Heir: The Duchess of Cambridge has a royal duty to produce a spare heir, and now that her son is nearly 1-year-old, the clock has officially begun ticking. The 32-year-old brunette beauty recently covered Vanity Fair with her hubby and her adorable son, and, in the accompanying article, writer Katie Nicholl reports that "there are rumors among the couple's friends that they plan to try this summer."
