It's the age-old question: "Where did you get that?" and Kate Bosworth is helping fashionistas everywhere get the answer.

How, you ask? With the new fashion app that she just launched along with founder Samantha Russ, called Style Thief. We know, we know, there are a zillion apps out there. But this one has managed to separate itself from the masses, and it actually sounds really cool and different.

This is how it works: Style Thief allows its users to snap a pic of an outfit they like, and through an image search they are able to track it down and buy it in just a few simple clicks.

"Everyone has fashion envy," Kate explained to WWD. "Everyone can relate to that feeling of looking at an editorial, for example—or a friend, or the runway, for that matter—wanting to steal something exactly as you're seeing it, or something similar."

Style Thief works to make the whole "hunting down" process much easier. See something you like? Track it down like a master sleuth in a mere few clicks.

Kate has always been a woman of many roles; not only is she an actress (Blue Crush, anyone?) she's also the global ambassador for the skin care line SK-II and she's teamed up with Topshop, as well.

The 31-year old has also tried her hand at technology before in 2010 with subscription-based accessories company JewelMint, so it's no surprise that she'd want to jump into the tech world again and take on the role as chief marketing officer at Style Thief.

"It's a natural evolution of my interest in tech and fashion," said Kate. "In this particular sense, the simplicity of how the tool was designed was what I was attracted to."

And if you're wondering if she uses the app herself—of course she does! The red Valentino dress Kate plans on wearing to the app's launch party she actually found by sleuthing with Style Thief.

OK, it's official now. We've found our new favorite fashion app. Do you plan on using Style Thief, too?
