Watch: Seth Meyers Already Writing Jokes for 2014 Emmys?

Seth Meyers is gearing up for his primetime gig!

The late-night comedian, who will host the 66th Emmy Awards on August 25, chatted with E! News about his preparations for the upcoming big event. "I'm getting more excited and less nervous the closer we get," he told Will Marfuggi.

So has the funnyman started writing his jokes already? Not quite.

"I feel like if you wrote them now, you'd sort of fall out of love with them. The best jokes get written sort of ten to seven days out, so we'll start working on it closer to then."

But the real question is—will he get any help from the stellar Golden Globes team of Amy Poehler and Tina Fey?! Watch the video to find out!

While we can surely expect lots of laughs when Meyers takes the stage, there are few things that we shouldn't expect—including a certain famous celebrity impression.

"I think like most warm-blooded Americans I have a Matthew McConaughey impression, but I think I'm going to do my best not to pull it out," he joked.

And if you're hoping to see him sing and dance, don't hold your breath!

"If we need to do it that way, maybe we will. But I think we could just live without it this year."
