Before there were the countless celebrity sex tapes of today, there was Rob Lowe.
The actor was infamously caught on tape doing NSFW things on two separate occasions in 1988.
But we're happy to report that Lowe has a sense of humor about it now. So much so that he appears in Sex Tape, Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel's raunchy new comedy (in theaters on July 18).
"I have fond memories—fond, fond memories," Lowe joked with me last night at the movie's premiere of his time in the sex tape spotlight.
Does he ever actually watch the footage?
"No, do you have a copy?" he said.
When I tried to weasel my way around having to admit I've seen it, Lowe cracked, "I take one look at you and I know."
Busted!
And when I asked if he really has a "tramp stamp" tattoo like the one he flashes in the movie, Lowe smiled, "Wouldn't you like to know?"
In the flick, Lowe plays Diaz's buttoned-up boss who shows a much naughtier side when he starts partying with coke and booze.
