InstagramGlee star Becca Tobin is mourning the sudden and tragic loss of her boyfriend Matt Bendik, who was found dead at age 35 in a Pennsylvania hotel room Thursday. The Philadelphia Medical Examiner would only confirm to TMZ that Bendik's body had been found; his cause is death is currently unknown. It's also unclear where Tobin was when Bendik's body was discovered; E! News has reached out to her rep.
The Philadelphia Police Department is calling Bendik's passing a "sudden death," and investigators tell TMZ that there is no reason to believe foul play is involved. No evidence suggests he committed suicide.
Police confirmed no drugs or drug paraphernalia were found at the scene. Additionally, no weapons were found. The death does not appear to be suspicious. It does not appear to be a suicide but the official cause of death will be released by the ME. Police are not releasing the incident report.
Tobin, who plays Kitty Wilde on the Fox series, was accompanying Bendik on his business trip in the city. According to TMZ, they spent Wednesday night out on the town friends, and everything seemed normal.
"Matt was in Philly for business. No one knows what happened as of right now," a source tells E! News of Bendik, who ran popular L.A. nightclubs, including DBA and AV. "It is extremely sad and tragic. He was such an amazing guy. He was so in love with Becca—they did everything together. They were so in love."
Celebrity-friendly hotspot DBA posted a tribute to its deceased owner on a notice board outside the club on Thursday night. The simple message read, "We love you Matt."
