Hey girl, Ryan Gosling's got a baby on the way!

The actor is expecting his first child with girlfriend Eva Mendes, who is reportedly 7 months pregnant, according to OK! magazine.

And while it may come as a surprise to many that the 33-year-old hunk has decided to embark upon his first foray into fatherhood, it turns out that Gosling already had babies on his brain even before he coupled up with the 40-year-old actress.

Case in point? The supersexy stud previously opened up about his desire to start a family while speaking with U.K.'s The Times back in 2011.

"I'd like to be making babies but I'm not, so I'm making movies," the Notebook star said. "When someone comes along, I don't think I'll be able to do both and I'm fine with that. I'll make movies until I make babies."

So does this mean Gosling's going to retire?! Probably not. But we may be seeing (even) less of the über-private star.

In the same interview, Gos also proved he's a standup guy, gushing over his two past girlfriends, Sandra Bullock and Rachel McAdams.

"I had two of the greatest girlfriends of all time," he shared. "I haven't met anybody who could top them."

Until now, that is. (Nice work, Mendes.)

While Ryan has yet to speak publically about his relationship with his Place Behind the Pines co-star, the sensitive stud was far more open when it came to discussing his romance with McAdams, telling GQ magazine, "I mean, God bless The Notebook. It introduced me to one of the great loves of my life. But people do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that."

A true romantic with abs of steel? Eva, you've landed yourself a winner.

Not only does Gos have heart of gold, but he also understands women, having grown up with his mother and sister, whom he has previously referred to as his "best friend."

"I feel like I think like a woman, because I grew up with my mother and my sister so I've just been programmed to think like a girl," he told the U.K. Telegraph in 2011. 'I'm attracted to films that have strong female characters because there are strong female characters in my life. That's my own reality so it's a doorway into a world for me."

As for another testiment to the fact that he's in touch with his feminine side?

"I don't think anyone can teach you how to be a man but a woman," he mused. "You only learn by learning what they need."

Swoon.

When it comes to romance, Ry knows love is the key to true happiness. "The theme for me is love and the lack of it. We all want that and we don't know how to get it, and everything we do is some kind of attempt to capture it for ourselves."

But sometimes, he's just an average dude with an insanely hot bod.

"If I eat a huge meal and I can get the girl to rub my belly, I think that's about as romantic as I can think of," he said back in 2004 at the world premiere of The Notebook.

Don't worry, Ry, we'll rub your belly six pack any day.

Congrats!
