Well, don't these two look like they've become fast friends?!

Just over two months after George Clooney popped the question to fianceé Amal Alamuddin, the mothers of the soon-to-be husband and wife were photographed bonding with each other while enjoying a day of shopping near Lake Como, Italy.

Nina Bruce Clooney and Baria Alamuddin were seen walking arm-in-arm as they strolled the streets of one of the small Italian towns close by Clooney's favorite vacation spot. The future in-laws were all smiles as they browsed the shops for souvenirs and spent time getting to know each other on a more personal level, prior to their children's upcoming nuptials.

The 53-year-old actor and the British attorney were recently spotted scouting wedding locations late last month in Italy. According to an eyewitness, the lovebirds took a tour of Lake Como, where they engaged in some sweet PDA, before they went back to Clooney's famed Villa Oleandro.

George and Amal have been spending ample time in Italy as of late. The two were photographed sharing a romantic meal in Venice in May, and the couple dined with Clooney's parents in Lake Como just last week.

While no official request has been made to have the ceremony at George's villa just yet, the mayor of Lario, Roberto Pozzi, certainly hopes the newlyweds will choose to say I-do at Clooney's famous vacation home.

"We are very conscious of the beautiful tie that Clooney has with the town of Lario, and the sentiment goes both ways, and has been strong on our part for some 10 years now. Should they decide to take their wedding vows here in Laglio, it would be the crowning of a privileged relationship between Clooney and this town."

Clearly, things are going swimmingly for the soon-to-be husband and wife, who are reported to swap vows in September.

"We are very pleased," Clooney's father, veteran broadcaster Nick Clooneytold E! News after the actor popped the question. "We like Amal and we are very excited for our family and thrilled for them."

"They are both wonderful people and hope they have a terrific life ahead of them," the elder Clooney continued. "This is their day. This is George and Amal's time."
