Is a Hocus Pocus sequel in the works? In the cult classic, it took 300 years for a virgin (Omri Katz) to light the black flame candle, which brought the witchy Sanderson sisters (Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker) into the 20th century. Twenty-one years after the Walt Disney Pictures movie was released, several blogs began to speculate that Tina Fey was working on a sequel to family-friendly flick.
Alas, the comedienne is not involved in a follow-up film.
Fey's rep tells E! News that the eight-time Emmy winner, two-time Golden Globe recipient and four-time Writers Guild of America champion is indeed developing and starring in a supernatural-themed feature.
However, the project has no relation to Hocus Pocus. As of now, there are no plans for a sequel, either. (Do we have to wait another 300 years?!)
Fey is keeping very busy. She currently shooting Universal Pictures' comedy The Nest, co-starring her Saturday Night Live pals Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph, and she's also adapting a Mean Girls musical.
