AKM-GSIPoor Liv Tyler recently gave onlookers a bit of a show...and it wasn't even Rex Manning Day.
Sporting sunglasses and a black and blue printed wrap-around mini dress, the Armageddon, Lord of the Rings and Empire Records actress suffered a wardrobe malfunction while walking in New York City on Wednesday, July 2, a day after her 37th birthday! She accidentally flashed a peek of her dark bikini underwear and bare leg when a gust of wind lifted up part of her skirt.
Tyler, a mother of one, appeared to be walking alone and did not appear to notice her accidental undergarment flash as she continued on her way.
Tyler, who famously stripped down to her underwear in a scene in the 1995 teen cult film Empire Records, had also suffered a wardrobe malfunction while filming the 2008 movie The Incredible Hulk, which earned her a new nickname.
"I had to wear the same pair of skinny 7 For All Mankind jeans and during a big scene, where we crash in a helicopter, I split the back of them while trying to pull William Hurt out of the crash," she told Glamour U.K. in a 2010 interview. "I didn't realize I had done it until I went to stand outside in the fresh air for a couple minutes and felt a cool draft on my bottom! The crew nicknamed me Action Pants."
Earlier on Wednesday, Tyler appeared on the daytime talk show Live! With Kelly and Michael, during which she talked about her latest project, HBO's new apocalyptic drama The Leftovers, in which she plays Meg Abbott. This marks Tyler's first television series.
She recently shared on her WhoSay page a hilarious text message sent to her from one of her sisters, singer Chelsea Tyler of the electro soul duo KANEHOLLER. The women share a father, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler.
"OMG ITS SO F--KING GOOD I‘M OBSESSED!!!" she told the actress. "YOU are killing it Vern ... I‘ve watched it three times already ... I ‘m so proud of you and excited for you! It‘s my new favorite show even if you weren't on it and the fact that you are just makes me so effing happy I wanna pop!"
"Thank you sister !!!!!! Heart explode!!!!" Tyler replied.
