The Walking Dead Season 5 Will Be Bloodier, More Action-Packed and Filled to the Brim With Zombies

The Walking Dead, Cast YouTube

The Walking Dead will be back this fall full of even more zombies, blood and action, according to the cast and crew.

AMC released a video from the first day back on set of shooting The Walking Dead season five and all your favorites were there: Glenn (Steven Yeun), Daryl (Norman Reedus), Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Michonne (Danai Gurira) and the rest of the gang are back together after some time apart.

"It's the most ambitious first episode I think we've ever attempted," Lincoln says in the preview video. "It moves like no other premiere we've ever shot, and if this is anything to go by for the season, I think it's going to be the best season yet."

Lofty words, Rick Grimes! The video features tons of running, battered characters and zombies, as any Walking Dead video should. "This episode is so disturbing. Some of the stuff they shot yesterday, I don't know if it'll make it to TV," Cohan says.

Season four of The Walking Dead ended with Rick reuniting with his group at Terminus…after being captured.

"All hell is breaking loose," Michael Cudlitz, Abraham on The Walking Dead, says in the video above.

Season five of The Walking Dead will consist of 16 episodes. Seth Gilliam will join the cast along with season-four additions Cudlitz, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Alanna Masterson and Andrew J. West. Scott Gimple is returning as showrunner.

The Walking Dead season five kicks off in October on AMC.
