"I don't want to keep introducing him to people and having him form bonds and then take 'em away, you know," she says, referring to her 4-year-old son

Idina Menzel is single and...ready to mingle?

After splitting from her famous hubby of 10 years, Taye Diggs, in December, the "Let It Go" crooner has gotten a taste of what it's like to date as a single mother—and she's not a fan. Speaking to Sean Valentine on his radio show Valentine in the Morning last Monday (audio available courtesy of Huffington Post), Menzel said, "It all sucks."

"I don't want to keep introducing him to people and having him form bonds and then take 'em away, you know," she said, referring to the couple's 4-year-old son, Walker. "It's bad enough his mom and dad are getting divorced."

Menzel, whose parents divorced when she was a teenager, continued, "I went through it when I was 15 years old. I keep telling myself, because I feel so badly for him, it's better that he's four-and-a half than when he's 15. He has two parents that love him very much and we want to be great moms and dads. At 15 I was too aware, I thought I was an adult, and I got in the middle of everything and I took on the stress for both of them."

Her comments come nearly a week before her ex made his first red carpet appearance with girlfriend Amanza Smith Brown at the 2014 BET Awards. Their relationship became public just four months after announcing he and Menzel called it quits. "They are 100 percent in love," a source told E! News at the time. "They have been dating for a while."

This isn't the first time Menzel opened up about her big breakup. In April, the If/Then Broadway star admitted on CBS Sunday Morning, "If I didn't have a job...I'd be home eating a tray of brownies and, you know, watching sad romantic comedies and Bridget Jones-ing it out."

That actually sounds like a great time!
