The day of future present is here.

Director Bryan Singer got the Internet all excited today by sharing a picture of a snippet of page one of the script treatment for X-Men: Apocalypse, which will mark his fourth time helming an installment of the Marvel Comics-born superhero-ensemble franchise.

"@xmenmovies #xmen," Singer simply captioned the pic—which, incidentally, was his first Instagram post.

The film, which already has a release date of May 27, 2016, is a sequel to X-Men: Days of Future Past, which grossed $717 million worldwide. Singer did not take part in pre-release publicity due to the pending sex-abuse lawsuit against him, saying he didn't want to distract from the film.

Singer, Simon Kinberg (Days of Future Past, X-Men: First Class), Michael Dougherty (X-Men 2)and Dan Harris (X-Men 2) are credited as the writers on the treatment the director posted.

The opening scene appears to be set in Egypt or one of the 10 other African countries the Nile runs through, as the film opens as "the Nile is streaked..." with something.

And as one might have hoped, given the film's title, there are Four Horsemen.

Can't wait to see what Singer & Co. do with the rest!
