Peter Dinklage and Grumpy Cat Selfie Is a Hoax; Tyrion Lannister and Tardar Sauce Have Never Met!

Did the Peter Dinklage and Grumpy Cat selfie floating aground the inter webs today seem a little too good to be true?

Well, it was, because sadly, this photo is a hoax. (Damn you, Photoshop!) Ben Lashes, who represents Grumpy Cat, Keyboard Cat and Nyan Cat, told Mashable that everyone's favorite adorably frowny feline has never met the Game of Thrones star.

In fact, "She's never met anyone from the cast." Lashes said. "She did the Iron Throne exhibit at the SXSW and missed an actress by an hour. That's the closest it's gotten."

Someone needs to make this happen—soon! Of course, Grumpy Cat (née Tardar Sauce) is a star herself, and she's met her fair share of fellow celebrities.

But the Dinklage selfie was taken at some point, and music blogger Will Oliver informed us that he was the one who asked for a pic with the GoT scene-stealer at the X Men Live event in May in New York.

And no, there wasn't any Grumpy Cat in the original version.

"Tyrion Lannister took a selfie with me. This may be my favorite photo that I've taken of all time.#xmenlive #peterdinklage #tyrionlannister#gameofthrones," Oliver captioned the pic.

No feline needed to make it an OMG moment.

Some, like Ian Somerhalder, for example, were actually starstruck by Grumpy Cat, but she—as you might have guessed—was not impressed.

The persnickety kitty even took over American Idol, and everyone from the contestants to Jennifer Lopez and Ryan Seacrest were clamoring to take their picture with her!

Really, though, Ms. Tardar Sauce is simply too cool for school. In fact, when E! News asked how Grumpy Cat was handling all the fame, her owner Tabatha replied matter-of-factly, "I don't think she really cares."

And she probably never will—unless, of course, Tyrion Lannister invites her to visit the Game of Thrones set.
