And then there was Diane Kruger, who's back to her A-lister best after a red carpet hiatus. The actress went with a punchy black-and-white polka-dot Roland Mouret design, paired with bright yellow pumps. A subtle ode to summer perhaps?
Former Revenge star Ashley Madekwe got way into the autumn theme with a bordeaux Cushine Et Ochs long-sleeved midi. And while the look may not pass in a summer Hampton's party environment, we couldn't help but love her pre-fall style.
The bright spot of our list is of course red carpet newbie Nicola Peltz, who's been crushing it promoting her first major flick Transformers: Age of Extinction. The 19-year-old wore a sparkling blue Balenciaga column gown, proving she can hang with the red carpet big leagues.
