Lourdes Leon is definitely following in her mother's footsteps!

E! News has learned that the teen has enrolled as a college freshman at the University of Michigan, just like Madonna did nearly 40 years ago.

The 17-year-old is focusing her studies in musical theater and dance and is working towards her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Hmmm…sounds like someone else in her family, right?

Madge attended the college back in the '70s after receiving a dance scholarship, however, she dropped out in 1978 to pursue her dreams of becoming the superstar she is today.

And the apple clearly doesn't fall far from the tree with Lourdes, who often goes by Lola.

She just graduated from the prestigious performing arts LaGuardia High School in New York City and according to the New York Daily News, she was recently cast as the leader of the Pink Ladies in the school's production of Grease.

Madonna has made it to secret that she wants her eldest daughter to attend her alma matter.

"I want my daughter to go to school there," the 55-year-old Grammy winner told the NFL Network in 2012 before her Super Bowl XLVI halftime performance. "I keep telling her, Ann Arbor is an awesome place."

So it seems she got her way!

The pop icon, who is with her daughter in Michigan for freshman orientation, posted an Instagram pic of the university's bookstore yesterday and proudly wrote, "I think ill stop in here!"
