It's safe to say that Nicole Richie is definitely a fashion entrepreneur and trendsetter—purple hair (don't care!) and all! I love that she has her own unique personal style and isn't afraid to push the envelope and take risks.
This week the boho-chic goddess did so while she was the keynote speaker at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas. For the event the 32-year-old paired a gorgeous mint green lace crop top by Just Cavalli, which retails for about $500, with white wide leg pleated pants by Alberta Ferretti. For accessories she wore $695 mint green Jimmy Choo pumps and of course her very own House of Harlow jewels.
As we all know, crop tops are the biggest trend right now. I understand why the idea of a midriff-baring piece can be crazy scary for most but if you rock it like Richie does here—with a high-waisted pant or skirt so you don't have a ton of skin showing—you will be just fine, promise.
As for the pants, if they are wide-legged, make sure the bottom grazes the ground—nothing shorter! This way your entire silhouette will be lengthened and elongated.
Now, here's how to recreate this look on the cheap. Score this mint green lace top from Top Shop, only $32, and pair it with this flirty white Gilly Hicks bra for $17.50. These $30 Forever 21 wide leg pants will look just like Richie's much more pricey Ferretti version.
For shoes, I chose these gorgeous mint pumps from Club Monaco that go for just under $300. Now, I know the shoes are a little on the expensive side but you have to be careful when selecting pastel shoes. If you choose a pair where the pastel is too loud and the material looks cheap your shoes will come across really cheesy. Yuck! So here, it pays to spend a little more to make the whole outfit come together. Plus, these shoes are still less than half of what Richie paid for her Jimmy Choos. Last, add in this amazing earring cuff from Claire's for $7.50 and you are all set!
