Watch: Helena Bonham Carter Dishes on her Wild Style

March to the beat of your own drum. Let your freak flag fly. We hear these empowering "be true to yourself" statements all the time, but Helena Bonham Carter is one person who seriously lives by this motto.

E!'s own Kristin Dos Santos caught up with Helena at the VIP preview of Diagon Alley at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Orlando, and the actress opened up about her out-of-the-box aesthetic and why she really doesn't care if she lands on the worst dressed list.

"I've had a stylist once or twice, but it doesn't really work out because basically, I don't like being told what to wear," she said. "I don't like being told what to do, so there's no point. A lot of people suggest that I should."

Well, we don't! We like that Helena bucks all the trends and embodies the spirit of the quirky characters she plays onscreen on the red carpet, too.

Even though Helena looked uncharacteristically demure in her printed red wrap dress while chatting with Kristin, we associate her with her signature "kooky gothic" style. Now, she's not Bjork-level kooky, but let's put it this way: She's the only person we know who can pull off wearing two different colored shoes at the Golden Globes.

We especially love how Helena summed up her fashion mantra to Kristin: "At the end of the day, whatever."

Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Orlando's The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opens on July 8.
