While Adam Levine was previously notorious for his bad-boy reputation, it seems that the Maroon 5 frontman has turned a new leaf since coupling up with his now-bride-to-be Behati Prinsloo.

The Voice coach phoned in to On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Monday morning shortly after the band's new song "Maps" hit airwaves, and in addition to opening up about the hot new track, the 35-year-old hunk revealed that he was the perfect gentleman when it came to asking for Prinsloo's hand in marriage.

"I did ask his permission," Levine said when asked if he consulted his ladylove's father before he popped the question. "I don't want to talk about it, you know how I am, but yes, of course I did. I had to. And it was extremely nerve-wracking."

Levine and the Victoria's Secret stunner got engaged back in July 2013. Prior to dating the 24-year-old model, Levine was romantically linked to a slew of other high-profile hotties, including Anne Vyalitsyna and Nina Agdal

With the pair's July wedding swiftly approaching, it has been reported that the "She Will Be Loved" crooner has apologized to his famous exes.

"He apologized for how he treated them," a source told Us Weekly of the famous ladies' man.

An insider confirms to E! News that Nina did recently receive an email from Adam, adding that the report is true "as far as Nina is concerned."

Meanwhile, Levine and Prinsloo are set to wed in an intimate ceremony in Mexico on July 19.

The wedding will take place at the luxe Hotel El Ganzo in Los Cabos. The attractive couple will host a rehearsal dinner the night before they exchange their vows and guests will also attend a brunch the day after the wedding, before the newlyweds depart for their honeymoon.

In addition to dishing wedding deets, Levine chatted with Seacrest about the band's early beginnings, and admitted that the group, who has been making music together since high school, wasn't always so popular.

Although Maroon 5 has been a band technically since 2002, Adam and the guys have been making music together since they were 15-years-old. But they weren't always as cool and popular as they are now.

"We were freshmen in high school, no girls would talk to us," he jokes. "I had pimples all over my face. I was not cool, really, at all. And that's when all of this started, and we're still doing it. It blows my mind."

"We were freshmen in high school, no girls would talk to us," he confessed. "I had pimples all over my face. I was not cool, really, at all. And that's when all of this started, and we're still doing it. It blows my mind."

The 35-year-old hottie also confirmed the rumor that Gwen Stefani will be featured on Maroon 5's upcoming V album.

"How do you know everything already?" Levine asked Seacrest. "I wanted it to be a surprise, but she is."
