Get ready for a lightbulb moment!
We are shining the spotlight on a famous face that has been working behind the scenes at the Oprah Winfrey Network, albeit not quietly.
For years, veteran actor D.B. Sweeney has been lending his booming celebrity voice to various OWN promotional packages during commercial breaks.
The New York native—who calls on viewers to tune into brand new shows, season premieres, and other programming—orginally got his start on Broadway, but is best known for his lead role in the early '90s rom-com The Cutting Edge.
As the thesp-turned-voiceover talent explains in the clip above, he never thought he'd work in voiceover due to his "very strong Long Island accent."
Even so, the advice he was given early in his career: "Kid, you're very good, but you don't look like you're from New York so you can't sound like you're from New York," helped him lose the sound of his hometown and land gigs with Coca-Cola, the NFL network and now, the OWN founder once called "the pinnacle of the entertainment universe."
All-new Oprah: Where Are They Now? episodes air Sundays at 9 p.m. on OWN.
