Liv Tyler likes 'em green and mean.

The Lord of the Rings actress has signed on to star as Dr. Bruce Banner's resident love interest in the sequel to 2003's Hulk, which will feature Edward Norton suiting up/stripping down as the moody scientist and his musclebound alter ego.

Steven Tyler's little girl will take over the role of Betty Ross, played by Jennifer Connolly in the first film opposite Eric Bana as the green fighting machine.

While Ang Lee's take on the classic comic book character had style to spare, reviews were average at best and it grossed a disappointing (for a superhero saga) $245 million worldwide.

But, in the land of CGI, anything can be tweaked and new deals can be made.

French director Louis Leterrier of The Transporter fame will helm The Incredible Hulk for Marvel Studios. The second go-round will see star-crossed lovers Banner and Betty reuniting as the hunt for the Hulk (who at the end of part one was presumed dead but was very much alive and in hiding) heats up and the good doctor turns to Betty for help.

Meanwhile, Tim Roth is reportedly in talks to play the bad guy, Emil Blonsky. In the comics, Blonsky's a KGB agent who exposes himself to gamma radiation in an attempt to become Hulk-like, only to be transformed into a more volatile, more menancing creature known as Abomination.

The Incredible Hulk is expected to start shooting this summer in Toronto.
