Nic Bishop is getting in on the action—in the board room and in the field—on Covert Affairs. He'll also be wearing nice suits and driving fancy cars… and walking around in a towel. Hey, it's all part of the job.
The Body of Proof star joins season five as Ryan McQuaid, an ex-Navy SEAL, who now runs a private security firm like real-life Blackwater. "Whenever there's too much heat for the CIA or the government to do it, then a company like his is sent in to do it," Bishop says in the video below.
Bishop spent two seasons opposite Dana Delany on the fan-favorite ABC series Body of Proof and now he's traveling the world opposite Piper Perabo in Covert Affairs. Bishop said his new character is adventurous and loves to push buttons to get to the root of people and get information.
"He shoots guns and fights people, he likes to get his hands dirty," Bishop says. "He doesn't just wear suits all the time, that's part of his job. He can very much switch between the corporate world and being on the ground." From the looks of the preview above, Bishop's character does a lot of both.
Look for him to clash with Perabo's Annie. "He's fascinated by her, he respects her, definitely, and I think in some ways she respects him, although she doesn't completely trust him in the beginning," he says. Bishop teases trust will continue to be a big issue between Ryan and Annie during this season of Covert Affairs.
Covert Affairs returns to USA with new episodes on Tuesday, June 24 at 10 p.m.
(E! and USA are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
